Melissa Jovic FIEAust CPEng EngExec NER APEC Engineer IntPE(Aus) CAAM
Melissa is a civil engineer with more than 30 years’ experience in transport/railway planning, governance, strategy, program & project management, technical design, system engineering and business case development. Her core experience is management of transport projects in multidisciplinary programs successfully leading and delivering business cases, including whole-of-life investment sustainability and independent technical assurance; working collaboratively across Australian States and Commonwealth governments. Her passion is High Speed Rail and System Engineering and she worked on HSR projects in Europe in the UK. Since 2009 she has been working for the Transport NSW in the area of rail transport strategy and in particular within the NSW Fast Rail Program as the Technical Director for all corridors.
She holds Master degree in Civil Engineering, System Engineering Professional Certificate MIT Boston, EA CPEng, Executive Engineer and Fellow status and she graduated Company Directors course at the AICD. She is also a Certified Associate in Asset Management (CAAM).
Melissa has been the WIE National Committee Chair for 2017 and 2018. She actively supports Engineers Australia in the Transport Society Australia as committee member as well as National Congress elected member. Melissa is also active in Women on Boards, the Permanent Way Institute NSW and she is a mentor under the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) -funded Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI).
